Results of OJSC DO “Vympel” activities during the period from September to December of year 2009 1 OJSC Murmansk Ship Repair Plant of the Marine Fleet conversed the launch PSK-1412 in an ecological monitoring boat acc. to the design of OJSC DO “Vympel”. The acceptance report of commissioning the ecological monitoring boat to the Navy was signed on 6 October 2009. 
The boat is fitted with all necessary up-to-date engineering facilities and laboratories and has the following characteristics: - Length overall – 33,0 m; - Total displacement – 260,0 t; - Max. speed – up to 11 knots. This work is a successful continuation of the DO «Vympel» activity in the field of designing ships of ecological monitoring and localization of consequences of emergency spills of aggressive media.
2. 23 October 2009, the State Ship Acceptance Commission signed a report of state tests of the landing boat, project 1176, developed by OJSC DO «Vympel». The order for building a series of boats was placed at OJSC “Sokolskaya Sudoverf”.

Principal particulars of the boat: Length overall with raised-up ramp - 24,0 m; Beam overall - 5,2 m.; Depth amidships - 2,4 m.; Mean draft amidships - 1,5 m.; Cargo-carrying capacity – up to 50 t.; Speed - 9,3 knot.; Propulsion plant power - 2õ110 kW; In November, the boat came to the place of its continued basing. 3. Sea trials of a type ship and the first serial chemical tanker, project 00216, developed by OJSC DO «Vympel», are undergoing; as the shipbuilder there is OJSC «Okskaya Sudoverf», Navashino. When testing, instrumental measurements of such major parameters as speed of the ship and its manoeuvring characteristics were taken.

The chemical tanker has the following principal particulars: Classification: ÊÌ Ice R2-RSN AUT1-C Oil Tanker, Chemical Tanker Type 2 (Vegetable Oil) (ESP) of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping; Length overall: 139,9 m; Breadth molded: 16,7 m; Depth design: 6,4m; Draft design, fresh water: 3,6 m; Draft at DWL, sea water: 4,06 m; Deadweight, fresh water: 5400 t; Deadweight, sea water: 6600 t; Crew/Berth: 11/12 .
4. At the Baltic sea, shop sea trials of a crane ship of about 800 t deadweight, built at OJSC «Îkskaya Sudoverf», Navashino, acc. to the design of OJSC DO «Vympel», are undergoing.

The ship is fitted with a special crane of 20t capacity at up to 31m outreach and designed to take, storage, carry discharging cargos as well as to transfer them to associate ships.
Results of OJSC DO “Vympel” activities during the period from January to September of year 2009 Within the period from January to September of the year the practical mastering of the market of designing large capacity ships has been continued as well as designing warships, ecological monitoring ships, ships and facilities of development of the continental shelf. The “Vympel’s” experience in the international business partnership on development of classification designs, detail/workshop drawings has been consolidated due to collaboration with foreign companies (including designing to rules of DNV, Lloyd’s Register, Germanischer Lloyd). The following works have been carried out by “Vympel” during this period: 1. The state trials of the first serial large hydrographic boat BGK-797(design 19920) built at ÎÀÎ “Shipbuilding and ship-repair yard named after the October Revolution”, (city of Blagoveschensk) has been completed. 2. Technical support of the construction and preparation for commissioning is being carried out for the following ships: - roads sea-going tug of 1200 kW power intended for ships towing and refloating, design 705B (Àstrakhan Shipbuilding-Repairing Yard of ÎÀO “Zvyozdochka”, city of Astrakhan); - sea-going tug of power 2800 kW intended for ships towing and refloating, design 745B(OAO “Yaroslavsky SSZ”). 3. Development of the engineering design of a sea-going INF-3 Class ship (“Etna”) is being carried out in cooperation with Italian company FINCANTIERI. 4. ÎÀÎ “Îkskaya Shipyard” (city of Navashino) has launched for outfitting and trials the hull of the type chemical tanker of design 00216. The tanker is being constructed for Malaysian company ÀÅÒ.  Sea-/ river-going chemical tanker (design 00216 developed by OJSC DO “vympel”)
5. Technical support of the construction of the second 12000 dwt tanker (design 00215) is being carried out at ÎÀÎ “Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after M.Gorky”. The ship is intended for carriage of crude oil and mazut in bulk with provision of heating. The operation area: the Caspian Sea with possibility of a single passage through the Volga-Baltic Waterway. The architectural and design concept: tanker with cargo accommodated in integrated and slop tanks. The ship’s steerability is provided by means of a steerable propeller system, bow and aft thrusters. The tanker is equipped with an integrated system of monitoring and control of the shipboard technical facilities. Provision is made for a PC enabling strength and stability monitoring while ship loading. Safe operation of the tanker is increased through installation of an inert gases system. 6. By means of transport pontoon “Sevan” (design 426ÌÂ, entered the service in 2009) positioning of the drilling rig LSP-1 has been carried out in the Caspian North. 7. The Murmansk Ship Repair Yard is completing conversion of boat PSK-1412 into the boat of ecological monitoring with a view to estimate and forecast on the ecological state of the air and water basins of the Caspian Sea (project “Shchupaltsa-1”). The conversion design has been developed by DO “Vympel”. The boat is equipped with a modern domestic complex intended for defining the level and character of contamination of the natural surface waters. 9. An engineering design of the railway/car/passenger ferry (design 00650) has been developed and approved by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). 10. An engineering design 22440 of the 3200 kW tug has been developed by the joint venture OOO “Krylev-Vympel engineering”, approved by supervision bodies and the customer (OOO “Gasflot”). The tug is designed to perform towing and berthing operations with MODU self-elevating, MODU, vessels, barges, and other floating facilities, conveyance of workmen teams, delivery of cargoes to drilling rigs, as well as fire fighting on other vessels and in ports, roadsteads, coastal areas and in arctic seas in compliance with the RS class. 11. A design study of the sea-going tug of power 5100 kW (design “Storm” of DO “Vympel”) has been carried out. The tug is intended for patrol in the open sea, rendering assistance to ships in distress, performing underwater technical works. 12. The construction of the 18000 dwt chemical tanker at OAO “Amur Shipyard” is going on (design 18500 of OJSC DO “Vympel”). 13. OJSC DO “Vympel” took part in the 10th International Exhibition Neva-2009 on shipbuilding, shipping, ports activity, continental shelf and ocean development (St.Petersburg, September 22-25, 2009). There were presented at the Exhibition the latest designs/studies of “Vympel” for the following important lines of work: transport fleet, vessels and technical facilities for shelf development, ships of the atomic and technological support, etc. In particular, there was presented at the stand of “Vympel” detail information about the new design of the railway/ car/passenger ferry for the line Ust-Luga-Baltijsk-Sassnitz (Germany) developed by request of OAO “Rosmorport”. Besides, the work of the Design Office in the field of fishing and scientific/ research vessels within the Federal Target Program “The enhancement of the efficiency of the use and development of the resource potential of the fishing household complex in 2009- 2013” was presented. The presentation was supported by video materials.
OJSC DO “Vympel” activity results in year 2008 The production activity of the Design Office “Vympel” in 2008 was focused on consolidation of the leading positions of the Office in its traditional specialization and on the engineering work quality rising. The certificate of conformance of the quality management systems to the requirements of GOST RB 15.002-2003 and GOST ISO 9001-2001 has been confirmed. The total volume of own works in 2008 came to 137, 5 % of the volume of 2007. The average monthly pay has grown by 41% as compared with 2007. The technical re-equipment of the Office has been continued. The Fund of the President programs and special projects for defense and law enforcement agencies “Kremlin” awarded DO “Vympel” with the order “For the Adherence to the Duty” and the main reward “Golden Star” within the nomination “Investigations and developments of the technology and arms for the Navy”. 
1. Reinforcement of the Russian Navy. The leading shipbuilding enterprises in 2008 under technical support of OJSC DO “Vympel” performed construction and commissioning of the following auxiliary ships and floating facilities to designs of DO “Vympel”. 1.1. At ÎÀÎ Shipbuilding and ship-repair yard “Vympel” (city of Rybinsk) and at ÎÀÎ “Shipbuilding and ship-repair yard named after the October Revolution”, (city of Blagoveschensk) the construction of the type ships of the design 19920 and design 19920B large hydrographic boats of 320 t displacement has been completed. The boats are designed to carry out hydrographic and marking works in coastal areas of seas, for servicing, re-charging and repair of shore and floating navigation facilities, transportation of personnel, special equipment and cargoes to unequipped shore. 1.2. A small hydrographic boat “Vaygach” (design 19910) of 1125 t displacement has entered the Russian Navy Hydrographic service, of non-restricted operation area, RMRS class. The boat has an ice strengthening and equipped with special hydrographic equipment. The type ship has been built at ZAO “Rybinsk Shipyard”. ÎÀÎ “Vostochnaya Shipyard” (city of Vladivostok) accomplishes the serial construction of the boats. 1.3. Technical support of the construction for the Russian Navy of the following auxiliary ships designed by DO “Vympel”. 1.3.1 Crane ship-loader of design 20360 for categorized cargoes (ÎÀÎ “Îkskaya Shipyard, city of Navashino); 1.3.2. Sea-going tug of 1450t displacement, non-restricted operation area, with ice strengthening. The tug purpose: towing and refloating ships, fire fighting on damaged ships. Design 22030 (FGUP “Khabarovsk Shipyard”, (city of Khabarovsk); 1.3.3. Roads sea-going tug of 300 t displacement intended for ships towing and refloating. Design 705B (Àstrakhan Shipbuilding-Repairing Yard ÎÀO “Zvyozdochka”). 1.4. Engineering work: 1.4.1. The first stage of development of the documentation for updating and re-equipment of the sea-going dry-cargo transport “Yauza” (design 550) has been completed. 1.4.2. A technical proposal for the new generation of small sea-going dry-cargo transports of cargo-carrying capacity up to 500 t (design 12220) and up to 150 t (design 12230). The ships are designed to supply frontier posts and outposts with solid fuel, equipment, building materials. 1.4.3. Correction and updating works on the working documentation of sea-going tugs of design 745ÌB, design studies on the 280dwt salvage ship/ tug have been perfor-med on the 1350 dwt water tanker, on the fire boat with fire pump total capacity of 3500 m3/h. 1.5. The total scope of works within defense orders for 2008 came to about 55,19% of the scope of the Design Office own works. 2. Works performed in 2008 for civil customers: 2.1. A series of chemical sea-/river-going tankers (design 00216) is under constructed at the ÎÀÎ “Îkskaya Shipyard” (Navashino). The ship is intended for transportation of crude oil and petroleum products, including those requiring heating. The ship’s deadweight in river conditions is 5400t, in sea – 6600t. The tankers are designed for operation in the Mediterranean, Black and Caspian Seas in accordance with the ship’s class, as well as by inland waterways of the European part of Russia with passage by the Volga-Don Ship Canal and Volga-Baltic Waterway. 2.2. OAO “Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after M.Gorky” has commissioned the 12000dwt type tanker of design 00215 built for the Azerbaijan State Caspian Shipping Company.  Sea-going tanker (design 00215 developed by OJSC DO “Vympel”)
2.3. The Astrakhan shipbuilding and industrial association (ÀSPO) has completed the construction and ballasting tests of the transport pontoon “Sevan” (design 426ÌÂ), intended for taking out the drilling rid LSP-1 being constructed at the Association yard. The rig is to be brought through the Volga-Caspian Canal to the site of operation in the Caspian North (Korchagin oilfield). The pontoon is designed for taking the load of LSP-1 through its putting under the rig, subsequent deballasting, then transportation of the rig with further removal of the pontoon from under LSP-1 at sea at the site of operation. After transportation of LSP-1 the pontoon will be used as a multipurpose facility to transport heavy-weight large-size metal structures including drilling rig supports metal structures (for offshore construction in the Caspian region). 2.4. An engineering design of the sea-going anchor handling tug/supply vessel (design 22450) has been developed and approved by the customer (OAO “Gasflot”) (support vessel for type SDC MODU). 2.5. In compliance with the state shipbuilding program a contract has been signed and design works started on creation of the ferry-boat communication (the customer: “Rosmorport”). The railway/car/passenger ferry (design 00650) is intended for operation on the line “Ust-Luga - Baltijsk (Russia) – Sassnitz (Germany)” and meets enhanced requirements of the ecological and passenger security. The following companies take part in designing the ferry: the Krylov scientific and research institute, “Transas”, “Roselectroprom”, “MacGREGOR”, “Deltamarin” and others. 2.6. The engineering and detail design of updating the special-purpose tanker (“Serebryanka”) for reception, clearing and carriage of liquid radioactive waste has been developed in the context of the ship functional area extension. 3. Design Office “Vympel” has qualified personnel, stable management structure and internal production relations. The company is vigorously supplemented with specialists of new generations. A system of adaptation of personnel is developed and introduced at “Vympel” as well as a tutorship system.

A contract has been signed for development of working documents and for technical assistance in construction of a tanker to carry crude oil and oil products having density of 0.7 … 1.025 t/m3 including those which require heating. The tanker will be a twin-screw diesel-powered vessel with foredeck and quarter-deck, with aft location of ER and accommodation superstructure, with double bottom and double hull, with longitudinal centerline bulkhead in way of cargo tanks.

Vyborg Shipyard launches Aktau Tanker built for Kazakhstan According to Interfax, last Thursday witnessed Vyborg Shipyard (Leningrad Oblast) launching ‘Aktau’ tanker bult for the Kazakhstan ‘Kazmortransflot’ National Shipping Company. The cost of buildingthe tanker is 13.8 mln Euro. The commissioning of ‘Aktau’ tanker completes the ‘Kazmortransflot’ programme on building 12 000 tons tankers designed by ‘Vympel’ Ship-Design Company from Nizhny Novgorod. Earlier, the Vyborg Shipyard had built two other sister tankers, ‘Astana’ and ‘Almaty’, for the same shipping company. The tankers series was build for Kazmortransflot under an order by the Central Asia Shipping Company (Kazakhstan). The lead ship of the series was delivered to ‘Kazmortransflot’ in February 2005.
